Together, Emily and Tiffany form the dynamic core of The Geoswerve Consultancy, dedicated to guiding students toward their educational goals with expertise, empathy, and a global perspective.

Emily Dobson is the founder of the Caribbean & Latin America Network and The Geoswerve Consultancy, and brings over two decades of experience supporting students, families, and schools in navigating international education.

Based in Brazil and working globally, Emily has guided students through admissions to universities around the world while also partnering closely with schools to build and strengthen counseling programs. Her work with school leadership teams includes developing counseling departments from the ground up, refining existing structures, training staff, and aligning school practices with international standards and ethical guidelines.

For families, Emily offers highly personalized, student-centered guidance grounded in experience across multiple systems and pathways. She works with students at a wide range of academic profiles, including complex cases involving financial aid, international mobility, and non-linear academic journeys. Her approach focuses on building thoughtful, balanced university lists and helping students present themselves with clarity, integrity, and purpose.

Emily is widely recognized for her leadership in the field. She is the first independent educational consultant invited to serve on the College Board Advisory Board and currently serves on the board of Global-Ed Immersion and as an advisor to Camp Education International. She previously served on the executive board of the International Association for College Admission Counseling.

Her work has been featured in outlets such as U.S. News & World Report, and she has contributed to widely used student resources through College Essay Guy. She also led the Nepal Justice League initiative, an international effort supporting students affected by the sudden loss of university scholarships, helping secure new placements and funding pathways. Her advocacy on behalf of students has been recognized through NACAC’s Joyce E. Smith Award for Excellence in Education, and she has been invited to teach NACAC’s Core Concepts for Independent Educational Consultants.

Emily is one of the few Certified Educational Planners in Latin America. She holds degrees from Loyola Marymount University and is a Distinguished Graduate of UCLA’s College Counseling program. She is also trained as an IB CAS and Extended Essay supervisor and AP English educator.

Tiffany, a passionate advocate for accessible education, complements the visionary leadership of Geoswerve Consultancy. Her diverse background, beginning with teaching through the JET Programme in Japan, laid the foundation for her dedication to mentoring youth. Tiffany's journey continued with a MEXT Scholarship in Education Training in Tokyo, further fueling her commitment to education.

In her role as a college counselor, and with deep experience in the International Baccalaureate and the United World Colleges programs, Tiffany goes beyond conventional guidance, empowering students to build self-confidence and appreciate the value of hard work. Her commitment to supporting international students is evident in her authorship of a comprehensive financial aid guide, notably recognized by the College Essay Guy (see resources). Active participation in projects assisting high-achieving, low-income (HALI) students showcases, including partnerships with various initiatives around the world to support these students, Tiffany's dedication to equitable education is endless. When she is not playing the oboe or english horn in her free time, she is a peer mentor and coach, bringing together counseling programs with a special focus on the International Baccalaureate program and counseling standards and benchmarks.

Tiffany's expertise extends to the creation of foundation resources, materials, and policies, which have proven instrumental in establishing and expanding counseling offices. Her combination of experience, passion, and unwavering commitment makes Tiffany an exceptional advocate for those seeking opportunities for higher education.

Proficient in Japanese, Tiffany graduated with a B.A. in Government and International Studies and Japanese from the University of Notre Dame before receiving the MEXT scholarship at the Tokyo University of Foreign Studies. She is also a trained classroom teacher and a sought-after speaker at annual conferences around the world.
