ABOUT US

Together, Emily and Tiffany form the dynamic core of The Geoswerve Consultancy, dedicated to guiding students toward their educational goals with expertise, empathy, and a global perspective.

Emily, the driving force behind The Geoswerve Consultancy, brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the field of education consultancy. As the Founder of The Caribbean and Latin American Network, Emily has played a pivotal role in shaping the educational landscape in the region. Her journey as a teacher, counselor, and former international school administrator has equipped her with a deep understanding of the intricacies of education.

A trailblazer in her field, Emily is among the few Certified Educational Planners in Latin America, a credential held by less than 10% of counseling professionals worldwide, solidifying her reputation as a trusted expert. Emily's commitment to student success is reflected in her extensive portfolio of accomplishments. From building counseling departments to overseeing curriculum development, she has left an indelible mark.

Her dedication extends beyond borders, as demonstrated by her role as an Executive Board member of the International Association for College Admissions Counseling. Drawing on this experience, Emily brings a unique perspective and enriches the services we provide with a global outlook. Since 2012, she has been leading recruitment and counseling sessions throughout Brazil, exemplifying her commitment to expanding educational opportunities.

She graduated from Loyola Marymount University (twice!) with a B.A. in English Composition, an M.A. in Child and Adolescent Literature and Language Arts, and a K-12 teaching credential. She is a 2011 Distinguished graduate of UCLA’s College Counseling program and a trained IB CAS, IB Extended Essay, and AP English educator.

Tiffany, a passionate advocate for accessible education, complements the visionary leadership of Geoswerve Consultancy. Her diverse background, beginning with teaching through the JET Programme in Japan, laid the foundation for her dedication to mentoring youth. Tiffany's journey continued with a MEXT Scholarship in Education Training in Tokyo, further fueling her commitment to education.

In her role as a college counselor, and with deep experience in the International Baccalaureate and the United World Colleges programs, Tiffany goes beyond conventional guidance, empowering students to build self-confidence and appreciate the value of hard work. Her commitment to supporting international students is evident in her authorship of a comprehensive financial aid guide, notably recognized by the College Essay Guy (see resources). Active participation in projects assisting high-achieving, low-income (HALI) students showcases, including partnerships with various initiatives around the world to support these students, Tiffany's dedication to equitable education is endless. When she is not playing the oboe with the local orchestra in Japan, she is a peer mentor and coach bringing together counseling programs with a special focus on the International Baccalaureate program and counseling standards and benchmarks.

Tiffany's expertise extends to the creation of foundation resources, materials, and policies, which have proven instrumental in establishing and expanding counseling offices. Her combination of experience, passion, and unwavering commitment makes Tiffany an exceptional advocate for those seeking opportunities for higher education.
